Canister Purge Solenoid: Service and Repair

PURGE SOLENOID VALVE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L3]

1. Remove the battery cover.
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
3. Remove the plug hole plate.
4. Remove the purge solenoid valve following procedure:

CAUTION: Do not disconnect the purge solenoid valve and evaporative hose except when replacing the purge solenoid valve because it may cause evaporative gas leakage.

1. Disconnect the purge solenoid valve connector.
2. Disconnect the evaporative hose at the charcoal canister side. (See Evaporative Hose Installation Note.)




3. Remove the bracket shown in the figure.
4. Disconnect the evaporative hose at the intake manifold side. (See Evaporative Hose Installation Note.)
5. Disconnect the quick release connector (Type A).

5. Install in the reverse order of removal.

1. Install the evaporative hose and clamp as shown in the figure.
