Water Pump: Service and Repair

WATER PUMP REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L3, AJ]
L3
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Drain the engine coolant.
3. Remove the drive belt.
4. Remove in the order indicated in the table.
5. Install in the reverse order of removal.
6. Add the engine coolant.





AJ
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the under cover.
3. Remove the air cleaner.
4. Drain the engine coolant.
5. Remove the water pump drive belt pulley.
6. Remove in the order indicated in the table.
7. Install in the reverse order of removal.
8. Install the new water pump drive belt pulley.
9. Add the engine coolant.





Water Pump Installation Note (AJ)
1. Tighten the bolts to the specified torque, then tighten them further 85° - 95°.

Tightening torque
10 Nm (102 kgf.cm, 89 in.lbf)
