2006-2008 MAZDA6 vehicles produced before Feb. 1, 2008
(Service Bulletin is not applicable to MAZDASPEED6)
DESCRIPTION
Some vehicles may experience one or more of the following electrical concerns due to poor contact at the C-04 connector.
^ Engine Crank / No Start - W/G or G/R wires (Fuel Pump Relay)
^ Air Conditioning Inoperative - GY/B wire (A/C Pressure Switch)
^ Rear Defroster Inoperative - V/R wire (Rear Window Defroster Relay to Center Panel)
^ Improper Ambient Temperature Display / A/C Function - Y/G wire (Airflow Mode Actuator to Ambient Temperature Sensor)
To avoid unnecessary parts replacement, customers having any of these concerns should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Verify customer concern.
2. Disconnect C-04 connector.
- If the terminal has damage, proceed to Step 3.
- If the terminal does not have damage, refer to the appropriate Workshop Manual section for further diagnostics.
3. Repair any loose or damaged male/female terminals as necessary.
NOTE:
^ Terminal(s) can be relocated to vacant terminal(s) if the lock is damaged.
^ The connector should be reconnected by three (3) steps; 1. align, 2. set, 3. lock.
4. Verify repair.
