Antilock Brakes / Traction Control Systems: Description and Operation

ANTI-LOCK CONTROL
The anti-lock control system consists of the following components:
^ Hydraulic control unit (HCU)
^ HCU bracket
^ Anti-lock brake control module
^ Rear wheel speed sensor (located in the center top position on the rear axle assembly)
^ Rear anti-lock brake sensor indicator (part of the rear differential)
^ Front wheel speed sensor
^ Front anti-lock brake sensor indicator (part of the front rotor in 2WD vehicles)
^ Front anti-lock brake sensor indicator (part of the front wheel bearing assembly in 4WD vehicles)
^ Yellow ABS warning indicator
^ Brake pedal position (BPP) switch
^ Red brake warning indicator
^ Brake fluid level switch
