PINPOINT TEST 8: DTC C1187: BRAKE FLUID LEVEL INPUT CIRCUIT OPENNormal Operation
The anti-lock brake system (ABS) module sends out a reference voltage to the brake fluid level switch along circuit (Y/GY). This voltage is returned to the ABS module along circuit (GY/V) when the brake fluid is at the correct level or sent to ground along circuit (B) when the fluid goes below a certain level.
Possible Causes
^ Circuit open
^ Circuit shorted
^ Brake fluid level switch (integral to the brake fluid reservoir)
^ ABS module
Caution:
^ Use the Flex Probe Kit for all test connections to prevent damage to the wiring terminals. Do not use standard multimeter probes.
