Removal and Installation
1. Turn the steering wheel to the straight-ahead position and turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
2. Remove the driver air bag module.
3. Loosen the steering wheel bolt.
^ To install, tighten to 40 N-m (4.1 kgf-m, 30 ft-lbf).
Caution:
^ Removing the steering wheel without using a puller may damage the column bearings.
4. Using SST 205-116, loosen the steering wheel.
5. Remove and discard the steering wheel bolt.
6. Disconnect the steering wheel switches electrical connector from the clockspring.
7. Remove the steering wheel.
^ Route the wires from the clockspring through the steering wheel.
Note:
^ A new steering wheel bolt must be installed.
8. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
