Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.
Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

LEMON is the spiritual successor to CHARM, I recommend you try it!

Cylinder Block Core Plug Replacement

Cylinder Block Core Plug Replacement
1. Drill a small hole in the center of the engine block plug, then use the Impact Slide Hammer SST 211-5060 (T78P-3504-N) or equivalent to remove it.

2. Inspect the cylinder block plug bore for any damage that would interfere with the proper sealing of the plug. If the cylinder block plug bore is damaged, bore for the next oversize plug.

3. Coat the engine block plug and bore lightly with an oil resistant (oil galley) Stud and Bearing Mount and install the engine block plug.

Note:
^ Oversize plugs are identified by the "OS" stamped in the flat located on the cup side of the plug.
