Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.
Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

LEMON is the spiritual successor to CHARM, I recommend you try it!

Pinpoint Test 2

PINPOINT TEST 2: THE TURN SIGNAL LAMPS ARE ALWAYS ON

Normal Operation
The smart junction box (SJB) sends reference signals to the multi-function switch through circuit (BR/L) (LH turn input) and circuit (BR/W) (RH turn input). When the multi-function switch is switched to the LH or RH TURN positions, the voltage signal is routed to ground. When the SJB detects the multi-function switch in the LH or RH TURN position, the SJB sends voltage to the appropriate turn lamps.
- DTC B2281 (Right Turn Switch Short to Ground) - is an on-demand DTC that sets when the SJB detects the RH turn signal switch input is short to ground.
- DTC B2282 (Left Turn Switch Short to Ground) - is an on-demand DTC that sets when the SJB detects the LH turn signal switch input is short to ground.

Possible Causes
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- Multi-function switch
- SJB
