OSS Sensor 5R44E/5R55E Removal / Installation

OSS SENSOR 5R44E/5R55E REMOVAL / INSTALLATION

1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. See Lifting.

2. Disconnect output shaft speed (OSS) sensor electrical connector.






3. Remove OSS sensor.
a. Remove the OSS sensor screw.

b. Remove the OSS sensor from the transmission.

- Inspect the OSS sensor O-ring for damage. If damaged, replace the O-ring.






4. Inspect and lubricate O-ring with petroleum jelly.
a. Install the (1) OSS sensor into the transmission.

b. Tighten the (2) OSS sensor screw.






5. Connect OSS sensor electrical connector.






6. Lower the vehicle.
