TRANSFER DUST SEAL REPLACEMENT

Right Side

1. Remove the middle pipe. Service and Repair

2. Remove the front pipe. Service and Repair

3. Remove the joint shaft. Joint Shaft Removal/Installation

4. Using the SST, remove the deflector.






5. Using the SST, remove the dust seal.






6. Mark the SST at position 18 mm {0.71 in} from the end.






7. Using the SST and a hammer, tap new dust seal.






Substitution SST
- 49 B032 334
Outer diameter: 38-42 mm {1.5-1.6 in}
Plate thickness: 2 mm {0.08 in} or more

8. Warm up the new deflector using a hot air blower.

9. Within 10 s after warming up the deflector, install the new deflector using the SST.

10. Install the joint shaft. Joint Shaft Removal/Installation

11. Install the front pipe. Service and Repair

12. Install the middle pipe. Service and Repair

13. Inspect for leakage of transfer oil.

Left Side

1. Remove the transfer. Transfer Removal/Installation

2. Remove the dust seal using a screwdriver.






3. Install the new dust seal.






4. Install the transfer. Transfer Removal/Installation

5. Inspect for leakage of transfer oil.
