Crankshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair
CRANKSHAFT POSITION (CKP) SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - 3.0L
Removal
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. See Lifting.
2. Disconnect the Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor electrical connector.
3. Remove the bolt and the CKP sensor.
- To install, tighten to 10 Nm {1.0 kgf-m, 89 in-lbf}.
4. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
Installation
1. Inspect the O-ring seal and install new as necessary.
NOTE:Lubricate the CKP sensor O-ring seal with clean engine oil.
2. Install the CKP sensor and bolt.
- Tighten to 10 Nm {1.0 kgf-m, 89 in-lbf}.
3. Connect the CKP sensor electrical connector.
4. Using the scan tool, carry out the Misfire Monitor Neutral Profile Correction procedure, following the on-screen instructions.
