Parking Brake System: Adjustments

PARKING BRAKE ADJUSTMENT

1. Start the engine and depress the parking brake pedal several times.

2. Stop the engine.

3. Turn the adjusting nut at the front of the parking cable.

4. After adjustment, inspect the following points:
a. Turn the ignition switch on, depress the parking brake pedal one notch, and verify that the brake system warning light illuminates.

b. Verify that the rear brakes do not drag.
