OIL PUMP REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [G6]

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Drain the engine oil. (See ENGINE OIL REPLACEMENT [G6].)
3. Drain the engine coolant. (See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT [G6].)
4. Remove the under cover.
5. Remove the cylinder head component. (See CYLINDER HEAD GASKET REPLACEMENT [G6].)
6. Remove the oil pan. (See OIL PAN REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [G6].)
7. Remove the chain cover component. (See TIMING CHAIN REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [G6].)
8. Remove in the order shown in the figure.
9. Install in the reverse order of removal.
10. Fill with the specified amount and type of engine oil. (See ENGINE OIL REPLACEMENT [G6].)
11. Fill the radiator with the specified amount and type of engine coolant. (See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT [G6].)
12. Start the engine and inspect for engine oil leakage

Oil Seal Installation Note
1. Apply clean engine oil to the oil seal.
2. Push the oil seal slightly in by hand.
3. Press the oil seal in evenly using the SST.

1. Install the inner and outer rotor with the punch mark facing the oil pump cover.

Oil Strainer Installation Note
1. Tighten the bolts in the order shown.
