Caution

• Clean away the ole sealant before applying the new sealant.

• Install the differential carrier 10 min. after applying sealant.

• Allow the sealant to set at least 30 min. after installation before filling the differential with the specified oil.

1. Drain the rear differential oil.

2. Remove the propeller shaft. (See PROPELLER SHAFT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3. Remove in the order indicated in the table.

4. Install in the reverse order of removal.

5. Add rear differential oil. (See REAR DIFFERENTIAL OIL REPLACEMENT.)

Rear Differential Component Removal Note

1. To prevent the rear differential from dropping, leave the two bolts loosely tightened, then tap the rear differential carrier using a wooden hammer.
