REAR DIFFERENTIAL OIL INSPECTION

F2, G6, WLT-1, WLT-2, WL-3, WL-C (4x2 (Except High Clearance Model))

1.  Position the vehicle on level ground.

2.  Remove the rear stabilizer. (Vehicles with rear stabilizer) (See REAR STABILIZER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [WL-C, WE-C (Thailand Specs.)].)

3.  Remove the oil-fill plug and the washer.

4.  Inspect if the oil level is close to the rim of the oil-fill plug hole.

•  If the oil is not close to the rim of the oil-fill plug hole, add oil.

5.  Install the oil-fill plug with a new washer and tighten.

Tightening torque
39.2—53.9 N·m {4.00—5.49 kgf·m, 29.0—39.7 ft·lbf}

6.  Install the rear stabilizer. (Vehicles with rear stabilizer) (See REAR STABILIZER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [WL-C, WE-C (Thailand Specs.)].)


WL-C, WE-C (4x2 (High Clearance Model), 4x4)

1.  Verify the rear axle casing type.

Type A

1.  An oil level inspection cannot be done. When inspecting rear differential oil according to the Scheduled Maintenance chart, do not inspect the oil amount. Inspect for rear differential oil leakage. If oil leakage symptoms appear from around the rear differential, do a repair of the malfunctioning area and supplement the oil. (See REAR DIFFERENTIAL OIL REPLACEMENT.)


Type B

1.  Position the vehicle on level ground.

2.  Remove the rear stabilizer. (Vehicles with rear stabilizer) (See REAR STABILIZER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [WL-C, WE-C (Thailand Specs.)].)

3.  Remove the oil-fill plug and the washer.

4.  Inspect if the oil level is close to the rim of the oil-fill plug hole.
