Backlight glass
Part name
1) For models with rear defogger, disconnect the rear defogger connector from the backlight glass.
2) Cut open the adhered caulking material with a knife.
3) Secure one end of 0.5 mm {0.02 in} diameter piano steel wire to a piece of wood to use it as a handle.
4) Using 2 needle-nose pliers, pierce the caulking agent adhered around the border of the rear window with the other end of the piano wire and pull it through.
5) Secure the other end of the piano wire to another piece of wood.
6) With the help of an assistant, carefully move the piano wire like a saw to cut off and remove the caulking agent adhered around the entire border of the backlight glass.

7) Remove the backlight glass from the panel.
8) Wipe away any remaining caulking agent from the backlight glass using a soft cloth and unleaded gasoline.
9) Remove any remaining caulking agent from the body section that secures the backlight glass.
