1. DTC B1053[57] DTC description
The SRS control unit determines the vehicle model by reading the conditions of vehicle model identification terminals and passenger side SRS airbag cut off switch input terminals when the ignition switch is turned ON. Normal conditions for the terminals (pin 4 of R5, pins 19 and 20 of B8) vary depending on specifications. When the SRS control unit detects that the terminals are in the conditions other than the following combinations, the SRS control unit or SRS harness is determined to be incompatible with this model, and the DTC is set.
- The vehicle model identification terminal (pin 4 of R5) is not connected to ground.
- The passenger side SRS airbag cut off switch input terminals (pins 19 and 20 of B8) are connected to the passenger side SRS airbag cut off switch.
Note
- DTC may not be set when there are malfunctions with both the SRS control unit and the SRS harness.
