4WD, 4WD low indicator light always on (4WD models)

1. Transfer control system check

Refer to "53.Driveline Control 3A.Troubleshooting(4WD models) diagnostic system check-transfer case controls".

2. 4WD indicator light and 4WD low indicator light OFF check

1) Turn ON the ignition switch.

2) Select the 4WD switch to the 2H position.

3) Check the 4WD indicator light and 4WD low indicator light. Do the 4WD indicator light and 4WD low indicator light turn OFF?

Yes

=>Go to Repair verification.

No

=>Go to Prioritized DTC check.

3. Prioritized DTC check

1) Connect the scan tool.

2) Turn OFF the ignition switch for 30 seconds or more.

3) Start the engine.

4) Observe the DTC information with a scan tool. Is a DTC set?

Yes

Go to the applicable DTC diagnosis.

No

Replace the instrument panel cluster.

Note

  • Perform programming after replacing the instrument panel cluster.

=>Go to Repair verification.

4. Repair verification

1) Turn OFF the ignition switch for 30 seconds or more.

2) Turn ON the ignition switch.

3) Drive the vehicle in 2H, 4H, and 4L modes respectively.

4) Check the illumination status of the 4WD indicator light and 4WD low indicator light.
