DTC B1E1E[49] Starter Output Relay Internal Circuit Failure (Wireless Access Module (Hi-version [Passive Entry and Start System]))

1. DTC B1E1E[49] description

The wireless access module switches the power mode to OFF, ACC, ON, or START according to the conditions when operating the engine start/stop button. The wireless access module controls the accessory voltage, ignition voltage 1, ignition voltage 2, and starter drive voltage by controlling the relay according to each power mode. If the wireless access module detects a malfunction in the starter relay control circuit, the DTC is set.

Note

  • If a wireless access module that does not support idling stop systems is installed to a vehicle equipped with idling stop system, the DTC is set when the engine is restarted by the idling stop system.

2. Condition for setting DTC B1E1E[49]

Any of the following are met:

  • The wireless access module detects an overcurrent condition in the starter relay control circuit when the starter relay is commanded ON.
  • The wireless access module detects an open circuit or short to the power supply in the starter relay control circuit when the starter relay is commanded OFF.

3. Action taken when DTC B1E1E[49] sets

When the engine start/stop button is pressed:

  • The key monitor warning light illuminates for 10 seconds.
  • POWER MANAGEMENT SYSTEM ERROR will be displayed on the multi-information display for 10 seconds.
  • The buzzer built into the instrument panel cluster will sound 3 times.

When the power mode is ON:

  • The key monitor warning light illuminates.
