DTC U2301 (Flash Code 181) Immobilizer Transponder Authentication NG (RZ4E-TC)

1. DTC U2301 description

When the ignition switch is turned ON, the wireless access module begins the transponder key authentication via the antenna coil in the steering lock section. Once the wireless access module transmits a signal, the transponder must send back a specific response signal. If the wireless access module receives an abnormal response signal from the transponder, the key authentication cannot be possible. If the ECM receives an abnormal key authentication signal from the wireless access module 4 or more consecutive times, the DTC is set.

2. Condition for setting DTC U2301

Condition for setting the DTC

The ECM receives an abnormal key authentication signal from the wireless access module 4 consecutive times due to any of the following conditions.

  • The key authentication cannot be done because the wireless access module cannot receive a response signal from the transponder.
  • The key authentication cannot be done because the wireless access module receives an incorrect response signal from the transponder.
  • The key authentication cannot be done because the wireless access module receives an unknown response signal from the transponder.
