DTC P0566 Cruise Control Off Signal (4JJ3 without DPD)

For the diagnostic type, refer to the diagnostic type list in the DTC description.

1. Engine control system check

Refer to "51.Engine Control 1A.Troubleshooting(4JJ3 without DPD) Diagnostic system check-engine controls".

2. Current DTC check

1) Connect the scan tool.

2) Turn OFF the ignition switch for 1 minute or more.

3) Start the engine.

4) Operate the vehicle under the conditions for running the DTC.

5) Observe the DTC information with a scan tool. Is a DTC set?

Yes

=>Go to Communication-related DTC check.

No

Go to Intermittent conditions of engine.

Refer to "202.Engine 15D.Symptom(4JJ3 without DPD) intermittent conditions of engine".

=>Go to Repair verification.

3. Communication-related DTC check

1) Observe the DTC information for each control module with a scan tool. Is a DTC beginning with U or a DTC related to communication with other control modules set?

Yes

Go to the applicable DTC diagnosis.

No

=>Go to Cruise control steering wheel switch inspection.

4. Cruise control steering wheel switch inspection

1) Remove the cruise control steering wheel switch.

Refer to "9.Body, Cab, Accessories 9C.Electrical Control, Entertainment cruise control steering wheel switch removal".

2) Inspect the cruise control steering wheel switch. Is the result normal?

Refer to "9.Body, Cab, Accessories 9C.Electrical Control, Entertainment cruise control steering wheel switch inspection".

Yes

=>Go to BCM-related DTC check.

No

Replace the cruise control steering wheel switch.

Refer to "9.Body, Cab, Accessories 9C.Electrical Control, Entertainment cruise control steering wheel switch removal".

Refer to "9.Body, Cab, Accessories 9C.Electrical Control, Entertainment cruise control steering wheel switch installation".

=>Go to Repair verification.

5. BCM-related DTC check

1) Observe the BCM-related DTC information on the scan tool. Is a BCM-related DTC set?

Yes

Go to the applicable DTC diagnosis.

No

=>Go to BCM harness connector inspection.

6. BCM harness connector inspection

1) Inspect for poor connections at the BCM harness connector (pins 2, 19, and 20 of B16). Is the connection status normal?

Refer to "LHD Body Control" in the ETM (wiring diagram). (Open using the ETM viewer.).

Refer to "RHD Body Control (4JJ3 without DPD, RZ4E)" in the ETM (wiring diagram). (Open using the ETM viewer.).

Yes

=>Go to BCM replacement.

No

Repair the connections as necessary.

=>Go to Repair verification.

7. BCM replacement

Note

  • Perform programming after replacing the BCM.

=>Go to Repair verification.

8. Repair verification

1) Clear the DTC with a scan tool.

2) Turn OFF the ignition switch for 1 minute or more.

3) Start the engine.

4) Operate the vehicle under the conditions for running the DTC.

5) Observe the DTC information with a scan tool.
