The twist pair wire used for CAN communication is terminated at the two 120 Ω resistors, with one installed inside the ECM and the other inside the instrument panel cluster. The following control units and devices communicate the control information and diagnosis information via the CAN communication circuit.
- ECM
- TCCM
- Rear differential lock control unit
- EHCU
- Parking aid system control unit
- TCM
- Steering angle sensor
- SRS control unit
- Control panel
- BCM
- Wireless access module
- Headlight auto leveling control unit
- DRM
- Information module
- Audio center unit
- Instrument panel cluster
The following conditions cause poor CAN communication.
- Open circuit in the CAN communication circuit
- Short together between the CAN Low circuit and the CAN High circuit
- Short to ground or short to the power supply in the CAN communication circuit
- Failure inside the module, which causes a short to ground or a short to the power supply circuit in the CAN communication circuit
