DTC P0814 (Flash Code 93) Transmission Range Display Circuit (AWR6B45)

1. DTC P0814 description

The inhibitor switch is connected to the manual valve lever shaft, and is installed to the transmission case. Supplied with ignition power, the inhibitor switch closes contact points of P, R, N, and D in accordance with selector lever operation, and supplies ignition voltage to the TCM. The TCM detects the shift position based on the signals from the inhibitor switch. If the TCM detects that the inhibitor switch signal does not match the range display in the instrument panel cluster, the DTC is set.

2. Condition for setting DTC P0814

Condition for running the DTC

  • The ignition switch is ON.
  • DTC U0073 is not set.

Condition for setting the DTC

  • The TCM detects that the inhibitor switch signal and the range display in the instrument panel cluster do not match.

3. Action taken when DTC P0814 sets

  • The TCM flashes the check trans warning light. Refer to Action taken when DTC sets - Type C.

  • The TCM turns OFF the shift indicator display.

4. Condition for clearing DTC P0814
