DTC B0010[1A] Passenger Airbag Circuit Low Resistance (Air Bag (Driver/Passenger))

1. SRS system check

Refer to "58.SRS Control 8A.Troubleshooting(Air Bag (Driver/Passenger)) diagnostic system check-SRS controls".

2. Passenger airbag circuit resistance check

1) Observe the Passenger Airbag Loop Resistance parameter on the scan tool. Is the Passenger Airbag Loop Resistance parameter less than or equal to the specified value?

Value: 1 Ω

Yes

=>Go to Intermediate harness connector connection check.

No

Go to Intermittent conditions of SRS control.

Refer to "209.Restraints 22D.Symptom Intermittent conditions of SRS control".

3. Intermediate harness connector connection check

1) Turn OFF the ignition switch for 15 seconds or more.

2) Verify that the intermediate harness connector (H28) is securely connected. Is the intermediate harness connector (H28) securely connected?

Refer to "LHD SRS airbag (Driver/Passenger)" in the ETM (wiring diagram). (Open using the ETM viewer.).

Refer to "RHD SRS airbag (Driver/Passenger)" in the ETM (wiring diagram). (Open using the ETM viewer.).

Yes

=>Go to Intermediate harness connector inspection.

No

Securely connect the intermediate harness connector (H28).

=>Go to Repair verification.

4. Intermediate harness connector inspection

1) Disconnect the intermediate harness connector (H28).

2) Inspect the intermediate harness connector terminals (pins 2 and 3 of H28) for bending, dirt, etc. Is the result normal?

Refer to "LHD SRS airbag (Driver/Passenger)" in the ETM (wiring diagram). (Open using the ETM viewer.).

Refer to "RHD SRS airbag (Driver/Passenger)" in the ETM (wiring diagram). (Open using the ETM viewer.).

Yes

=>Go to Current DTC check.

No

Repair the connections as necessary.

=>Go to Repair verification.

5. Current DTC check

1) Connect the intermediate harness connector (H28).

2) Turn ON the ignition switch.

3) Observe the DTC information with a scan tool for DTC B0010[1A] being set as a current failure. Is a DTC set?

Yes

=>Go to Passenger airbag harness connector connection check.

No

=>Go to Repair verification.

6. Passenger airbag harness connector connection check

1) Turn OFF the ignition switch for 15 seconds or more.

2) Remove the passenger airbag.

Refer to "8.Restraints 8B.Airbag Systems passenger airbag removal".

3) Verify that the passenger airbag harness connector (B75) is securely connected. Is the passenger airbag harness connector (B75) securely connected?

Refer to "RHD SRS airbag (Driver/Passenger)" in the ETM (wiring diagram). (Open using the ETM viewer.).

Yes

=>Go to Passenger airbag harness connector inspection.

No

Securely connect the passenger airbag harness connector (B75).

=>Go to Repair verification.

7. Passenger airbag harness connector inspection

1) Disconnect the passenger airbag harness connector (B75).

2) Inspect the passenger airbag harness connector terminals (pins 1 and 2 of B75) for bending, dirt, etc. Is the result normal?

Refer to "LHD SRS airbag (Driver/Passenger)" in the ETM (wiring diagram). (Open using the ETM viewer.).

Refer to "RHD SRS airbag (Driver/Passenger)" in the ETM (wiring diagram). (Open using the ETM viewer.).

Yes

=>Go to Current DTC follow-up check.

No

Repair the connections as necessary.

=>Go to Repair verification.

8. Current DTC follow-up check

1) Connect the passenger airbag harness connector (B75).

Refer to "LHD SRS airbag (Driver/Passenger)" in the ETM (wiring diagram). (Open using the ETM viewer.).

Refer to "RHD SRS airbag (Driver/Passenger)" in the ETM (wiring diagram). (Open using the ETM viewer.).

2) Turn ON the ignition switch.

3) Observe the DTC information with a scan tool for DTC B0010[1A] being set as a current failure. Is a DTC set?

Yes

=>Go to Passenger airbag circuit check.

No

=>Go to Repair verification.

9. Passenger airbag circuit check

1) Turn OFF the ignition switch for 15 seconds or more.

2) Disconnect the intermediate harness connector (H28).

3) Connect the SRS alternative load and the SRS adapter for load tool to the intermediate harness connector (H28) on the SRS control unit side.

4) Turn ON the ignition switch.

5) Observe the DTC information with a scan tool for DTC B0010[1A] being set as a current failure. Is a DTC set?

Yes

=>Go to Inspection for short circuit in passenger airbag circuit.

No

=>Go to Intermediate harness check.

10. Inspection for short circuit in passenger airbag circuit

1) Turn OFF the ignition switch for 15 seconds or more.

2) Inspect for a short together between the passenger airbag deployment current output (High) circuit and the passenger airbag deployment current output (Low) circuit between the SRS control unit (pins 25 and 26 of B8) and the intermediate harness connector (pins 2 and 3 of H28). Is the result normal?

Refer to "RHD SRS airbag (Driver/Passenger)" in the ETM (wiring diagram). (Open using the ETM viewer.).

Yes

=>Go to SRS control unit replacement.

No

Repair the circuit as necessary.

=>Go to Repair verification.

11. Intermediate harness check

1) Turn OFF the ignition switch for 15 seconds or more.

2) Remove the SRS alternative load and the adapter.

3) Connect the intermediate harness connector (H28).

4) Connect the SRS alternative load and the appropriate adapter from the adapter harness kit to the passenger airbag harness connector (B75).

5) Turn ON the ignition switch.

6) Observe the DTC information with a scan tool for DTC B0010[1A] being set as a current failure. Is a DTC set?

Yes

=>Go to Inspection for short circuit in intermediate harness circuit.

No

Replace the passenger airbag.

Refer to "8.Restraints 8B.Airbag Systems passenger airbag removal".

Refer to "8.Restraints 8B.Airbag Systems passenger airbag installation".

=>Go to Repair verification.

12. Inspection for short circuit in intermediate harness circuit

1) Turn OFF the ignition switch for 15 seconds or more.

2) Inspect for a short together between the passenger airbag deployment current output (High) circuit and the passenger airbag deployment current output (Low) circuit between the intermediate harness (pins 2 and 3 of H28) and the passenger airbag (pins 1 and 2 of B75). Is the result normal?

Yes

=>Go to SRS control unit replacement.

No

Repair the circuit or replace the intermediate harness as necessary.

=>Go to Repair verification.

13. SRS control unit replacement

Note

  • Perform the VIN programming and ECU lock after replacing the SRS control unit.

14. Repair verification

1) Reconnect all of the disconnected harness connectors.

2) Clear the DTC with a scan tool.

3) Turn OFF the ignition switch for 15 seconds or more.

4) Turn ON the ignition switch.

5) Observe the DTC information with a scan tool.
