2. Current DTC check
1) Clear the DTC with a scan tool.
2) Turn OFF the ignition switch for 15 seconds or more.
3) Turn ON the ignition switch.
4) Observe the DTC information with a scan tool for DTC B0021[11] being set as a current failure. Is a DTC set?
Yes
=>Go to Passenger curtain airbag circuit check.
No
Go to Intermittent conditions of SRS control.

3. Passenger curtain airbag circuit check
1) Turn OFF the ignition switch for 15 seconds or more.
2) Disconnect the passenger curtain airbag harness connector (R29).
3) Connect the SRS alternative load and the appropriate adapter from the adapter harness kit to the passenger curtain airbag harness connector (R29).

4) Turn ON the ignition switch.
5) Observe the DTC information with a scan tool for DTC B0021[11] being set as a current failure. Is a DTC set?
Yes
No
Replace the passenger curtain airbag.

4. Inspection for short to ground in passenger curtain airbag deployment current output (High) circuit
1) Turn OFF the ignition switch for 15 seconds or more.
2) Inspect the passenger curtain airbag deployment current output (High) circuit between the SRS control unit (pin 2 of R7) and the passenger curtain airbag (pin 1 of R29) for a short to ground. Is the result normal?

5. Inspection for short circuit in passenger curtain airbag deployment current output (Low) circuit
1) Inspect the passenger curtain airbag deployment current output (Low) circuit between the SRS control unit (pin 1 of R7) and the passenger curtain airbag (pin 2 of R29) for a short to ground. Is the result normal?

6. SRS control unit replacement

- Perform the VIN programming and ECU lock after replacing the SRS control unit.

1) Reconnect all of the disconnected harness connectors.
2) Clear the DTC with a scan tool.
3) Turn OFF the ignition switch for 15 seconds or more.
4) Turn ON the ignition switch.
5) Observe the DTC information with a scan tool.
