Diagnostic system check-SRS controls (Air Bag (Driver/Passenger/Side/Roof/Knee/Far Side))

1. Scan tool power-up check

1) Connect the scan tool.

2) Power up the scan tool. Does the scan tool power up?

Yes

=>Go to SRS control unit communication verification.

No

Go to Scan tool does not power up.

Refer to "51.Engine Control 1A.Troubleshooting(4JJ3 without DPD) Scan tool does not power up".

Refer to "51.Engine Control 1A.Troubleshooting(RZ4E-TC) Scan tool does not power up".

2. SRS control unit communication verification

1) Verify that communication can be established with the SRS control unit using the scan tool. Can communication with the SRS control unit be established?

Yes

=>Go to Current DTC check.

No

Go to Lost communication with the SRS control unit.

Refer to "58.SRS Control 8A.Troubleshooting(Air Bag (Driver/Passenger/Side/Roof/Knee/Far Side)) lost communication with the SRS control unit (models with radar sensor/ stereo camera)".

Refer to "58.SRS Control 8A.Troubleshooting(Air Bag (Driver/Passenger/Side/Roof/Knee/Far Side)) lost communication with the SRS control unit (models without radar sensor and stereo camera)".

3. Current DTC check

1) Observe the DTC information with a scan tool. Is a DTC set?

Yes (If DTC B1053[49], B1900[00], B1901[00], B1902[00], B1903[00], B1904[00], B1905[00], B1906[00], [00]B190F[00], or B1E17[00] is set.)

Go to the applicable DTC diagnosis in the following order.

Refer to "58.SRS Control 8A.Troubleshooting(Air Bag (Driver/Passenger/Side/Roof/Knee/Far Side)) DTC B1053[49] ECU Malfunction".

Refer to "58.SRS Control 8A.Troubleshooting(Air Bag (Driver/Passenger/Side/Roof/Knee/Far Side)) DTC B1900[00] Driver Airbag Circuit Activated(Crash)".

Refer to "58.SRS Control 8A.Troubleshooting(Air Bag (Driver/Passenger/Side/Roof/Knee/Far Side)) DTC B1901[00] Passenger Airbag Circuit Activated(Crash)".

Refer to "58.SRS Control 8A.Troubleshooting(Air Bag (Driver/Passenger/Side/Roof/Knee/Far Side)) DTC B1902[00] Side Airbag Circuit Activated(Crash)".

Refer to "58.SRS Control 8A.Troubleshooting(Air Bag (Driver/Passenger/Side/Roof/Knee/Far Side)) DTC B1903[00] Curtain Airbag Circuit Activated(Crash)".

Refer to "58.SRS Control 8A.Troubleshooting(Air Bag (Driver/Passenger/Side/Roof/Knee/Far Side)) DTC B1904[00] Rear Pretensioner Circuit Activated(Crash)".

Refer to "58.SRS Control 8A.Troubleshooting(Air Bag (Driver/Passenger/Side/Roof/Knee/Far Side)) DTC B1905[00] Knee Airbag Circuit Activated(Crash)".

Refer to "58.SRS Control 8A.Troubleshooting(Air Bag (Driver/Passenger/Side/Roof/Knee/Far Side)) DTC B1906[00] Far Side Airbag Circuit Activated(Crash)".

Refer to "58.SRS Control 8A.Troubleshooting(Air Bag (Driver/Passenger/Side/Roof/Knee/Far Side)) DTC B190F[00] Disposal Command Record".

Refer to "58.SRS Control 8A.Troubleshooting(Air Bag (Driver/Passenger/Side/Roof/Knee/Far Side)) DTC B1E17[00] ECU Internal Airbag Sensor Malfunction".

Yes (If a DTC other than DTC B1053[49], B1900[00], B1901[00], B1902[00], B1903[00], B190F[00], or B1E17[00] is set.)

Go to the applicable DTC diagnosis.

Yes (Only a past DTC is set.)

Go to the applicable DTC diagnosis.

No (No DTC is set.)

=>Go to SRS airbag warning light illumination check.

4. SRS airbag warning light illumination check

1) Turn OFF the ignition switch for 15 seconds or more.

2) Disconnect the scan tool.

3) Turn ON the ignition switch.

4) Check the SRS airbag warning light. Does the SRS airbag warning light turn OFF after illuminating for 6 seconds?

Yes

Go to Intermittent conditions of SRS control.

Refer to "209.Restraints 22D.Symptom Intermittent conditions of SRS control".

No (Does not illuminate)

Go to SRS airbag warning light illuminating circuit system check.

Refer to "58.SRS Control 8A.Troubleshooting(Air Bag (Driver/Passenger/Side/Roof/Knee/Far Side)) SRS airbag warning light illuminating circuit system check".

No (Remains ON)

=>Go to Current DTC check.
