DTC B1105[16] Inside Air Temperature Sensor: Short to Ground (Auto A/C)

1. Auto A/C control system check

Refer to "57.HVAC Control 7A.Troubleshooting(Auto A/C) diagnostic system check-auto A/C controls".

2. Inside air temperature sensor signal voltage check

1) Observe the Inside Air Temperature Sensor A/D Input Raw Voltage parameter on the scan tool. Is the Inside Air Temperature Sensor A/D Input Raw Voltage parameter equal to the specified value?

Value: 0 V

Yes

=>Go to Inside air temperature sensor signal output voltage check.

No

Go to Intermittent conditions of auto A/C control system.

Refer to "208.HVAC 21D.Symptom intermittent conditions of auto A/C control system".

3. Inside air temperature sensor signal output voltage check

1) Turn OFF the ignition switch.

2) Disconnect the inside air temperature sensor harness connector (B45).

Refer to "LHD HVAC (Automatic Air Conditioner)" in the ETM (wiring diagram). (Open using the ETM viewer.).

Refer to "RHD HVAC (Automatic Air Conditioner)" in the ETM (wiring diagram). (Open using the ETM viewer.).

3) Turn ON the ignition switch.

4) Observe the Inside Air Temperature Sensor A/D Input Raw Voltage parameter on the scan tool. Is the Inside Air Temperature Sensor A/D Input Raw Voltage parameter more than or equal to the specified value?

Value: 4.5 V

Yes

Replace the inside air temperature sensor.

Refer to "7.HVAC 7Z.HVAC Control inside air temperature sensor removal".

Refer to "7.HVAC 7Z.HVAC Control inside air temperature sensor installation".

=>Go to Repair verification.

No

=>Go to Inspection for short to ground in inside air temperature sensor signal circuit.

4. Inspection for short to ground in inside air temperature sensor signal circuit

1) Inspect the inside air temperature sensor signal circuit between the auto A/C control unit harness connector (pin 8 of B10) and the inside air temperature sensor (pin 1 of B45) for the following. Is the result normal?

  • Short to ground
  • Short to the low reference circuit

Refer to "LHD HVAC (Automatic Air Conditioner)" in the ETM (wiring diagram). (Open using the ETM viewer.).

Refer to "RHD HVAC (Automatic Air Conditioner)" in the ETM (wiring diagram). (Open using the ETM viewer.).

Yes

=>Go to Auto A/C control unit harness connector inspection.

No

Repair the circuit as necessary.

=>Go to Repair verification.

5. Auto A/C control unit harness connector inspection

1) Inspect for poor connections at the auto A/C control unit harness connector (pins 8 and 40 of B10). Is the connection status normal?

Refer to "LHD HVAC (Automatic Air Conditioner)" in the ETM (wiring diagram). (Open using the ETM viewer.).

Refer to "RHD HVAC (Automatic Air Conditioner)" in the ETM (wiring diagram). (Open using the ETM viewer.).

Yes

=>Go to Control panel replacement.

No

Repair the connections as necessary.

=>Go to Repair verification.

6. Control panel replacement

Note

  • Perform programming after replacing the control panel.

=>Go to Repair verification.

7. Repair verification

1) Clear the DTC with a scan tool.

2) Turn OFF the ignition switch.

3) Start the engine.

4) Observe the DTC information with a scan tool.
