DTC P01BB Oil Temperature with Oil Level Sensor Circuit High (4JJ3 with DPD)

1. DTC P01BB description

The oil level sensor is integrated with the oil temperature sensor and it is installed at the bottom left of the cylinder block. The oil temperature sensor is a variable resistor and calibrates the oil level by measuring engine oil temperature. This sensor has the signal circuit and ground circuit, and each of them is connected to the ECM. The oil temperature sensor resistance is high when the engine oil temperature is low, and the sensor resistance decreases as the engine oil temperature increases. The ECM detects a high voltage when the sensor resistance is high, and a low voltage when the sensor resistance is low. If the ECM detects an excessively low signal voltage, the DTC is set.

2. Condition for setting DTC P01BB

Condition for running the DTC

The battery voltage is 10 to 16 V.
The ignition switch is ON.
DTCs P0606 and P060B are not set.

Condition for setting the DTC

The ECM detects that the oil level sensor (oil temperature) signal voltage is 0.1 V or less for 6 seconds.

3. Action taken when DTC P01BB sets

The ECM illuminates the SVS indicator light. Refer to Action taken when DTC sets - Type C.

The ECM assumes a default oil level sensor (oil temperature) value.
