DTC B1107[17] Sun Sensor (Driver): Short to Battery (Auto A/C)

1. DTC B1107[17] description

The sun sensor is installed to the instrument panel (upper side). The sun sensor is a photodiode sensor that detects the amount of solar radiation. It converts correction signals for cabin temperature changes caused by sunlight into an electric current and inputs this to the auto A/C control unit. The sensor has the following circuits.

  • 5 V reference circuit
  • Driver side sun sensor signal circuit
  • Passenger side sun sensor signal circuit

The sun sensor sends signals related to changes in the illuminance of the sun to the auto A/C control unit via the signal circuit. If the auto A/C control unit detects that the driver side sun sensor signal voltage is excessively high, the DTC is set.

2. Condition for setting DTC B1107[17]

Condition for running the DTC

The following are met for 5 seconds or more:

  • The ignition switch is ON.
  • The ignition voltage is 10 V or more.

Condition for setting the DTC

  • The automatic A/C control unit detects that the driver side sun sensor signal voltage is excessively high for 4 seconds or more.

3. Action taken when DTC B1107[17] sets

  • The auto A/C control unit sets the amount of solar radiation to the default value (0 W/m2).
