2. Passenger curtain airbag circuit resistance check
1) Observe the Passenger Curtain Airbag Loop Resistance parameter on the scan tool. Is the Passenger Curtain Airbag Loop Resistance parameter less than or equal to the specified value?
Value: 1 Ω
Yes
=>Go to Passenger curtain airbag harness connector connection verification.
No
Go to Intermittent conditions of SRS control.

3. Passenger curtain airbag harness connector connection verification
1) Verify that the passenger curtain airbag harness connector (R29) is securely connected. Is the passenger curtain airbag harness connector (R29) securely connected?

No
Securely connect the passenger curtain airbag harness connector (R29).
4. Passenger curtain airbag harness connector inspection
1) Disconnect the passenger curtain airbag harness connector (R29).
2) Inspect the passenger curtain airbag harness connector terminals (pins 1 and 2 of R29) for bending, dirt, etc. Is the result normal?

Repair the connections as necessary.
5. Current DTC check
1) Connect the passenger curtain airbag harness connector (R29).

Refer to "RHD SRS airbag (Driver/Passenger/Side/Curtain/Knee)" in the ETM (wiring diagram). (Open using the ETM viewer.).
Refer to "RHD SRS airbag (Driver/Passenger/Side/Curtain/Knee/Far Side)" in the ETM (wiring diagram). (Open using the ETM viewer.).
2) Turn ON the ignition switch.
3) Observe the DTC information with a scan tool for DTC B0021[1A] being set as a current failure. Is a DTC set?
Yes
=>Go to Passenger curtain airbag circuit check.
No
6. Passenger curtain airbag circuit check
1) Turn OFF the ignition switch for 15 seconds or more.
2) Disconnect the passenger curtain airbag harness connector (R29).
3) Connect the SRS alternative load and the appropriate adapter from the adapter harness kit to the passenger curtain airbag harness connector (R29).

5) Observe the DTC information with a scan tool for DTC B0021[1A] being set as a current failure. Is a DTC set?
Yes
=>Go to Inspection for short circuit in passenger curtain airbag circuit.
No
Replace the passenger curtain airbag.

7. Inspection for short circuit in passenger curtain airbag circuit
1) Turn OFF the ignition switch for 15 seconds or more.
2) Inspect for a short together between the passenger curtain airbag deployment current output (High) circuit and the passenger curtain airbag deployment current output (Low) circuit between the SRS control unit (pins 1 and 2 of R7) and the passenger curtain airbag (pins 1 and 2 of R29). Is the result normal?

8. SRS control unit replacement

- Perform the VIN programming and ECU lock after replacing the SRS control unit.

9. Repair verification
1) Reconnect all of the disconnected harness connectors.
2) Clear the DTC with a scan tool.
3) Turn OFF the ignition switch for 15 seconds or more.
4) Turn ON the ignition switch.
5) Observe the DTC information with a scan tool.
