DTC P0045 Turbocharger Boost Control Solenoid Circuit (4JJ3 with DPD)

1. DTC P0045 description

The turbocharger internal control unit controls the VGS actuator by the signal sent from the ECM via the CAN communication circuit, and it performs the opening and closing operation of the nozzle vane. Turbocharger internal control unit monitors the operation of the turbocharger. If the turbocharger internal control unit detects a turbocharger malfunction, it sends the information to the ECM. If the ECM detects an abnormal signal from the turbocharger internal control unit, the DTC is set.

2. Condition for setting DTC P0045

Condition for running the DTC

  • The ignition switch is ON.
  • The battery voltage is 10 to 16 V.
  • DTCs U0074 and U0110 are not set.

Condition for setting the DTC

  • The ECM receives the turbocharger internal control unit circuit malfunction information.

3. Action taken when DTC P0045 sets

  • The ECM illuminates the MIL. Refer to Action taken when DTC sets - Type A.

  • The ECM limits the fuel injection quantity.
  • The ECM inhibits the EGR control.
  • The ECM inhibits the turbocharger control.
  • The ECM inhibits the cruise control.

4. Condition for clearing DTC P0045

  • Refer to Conditions for clearing the MIL/DTC - Type A or Type B.
