The differential lock coil is installed to the differential cage, and it engages/disengages the dog clutch. The rear differential lock control unit controls the differential lock coil based on vehicle speed, information from the rear differential lock switch and 4WD switch, etc. The rear differential lock control unit detects the energized state of the differential lock coil based on the current of the high-side control circuit and low-side control circuit of the differential lock coil. If the feedback current in the differential lock coil circuit is too high, the rear differential lock control unit determines that there is a short to the ground circuit and sets the DTC.
