DTC P1A00[19] Differential Lock Coil Circuit (Short Circuit) (Differential Lock)

1. DTC P1A00[19] description

The differential lock coil is installed to the differential cage, and it engages/disengages the dog clutch. The rear differential lock control unit controls the differential lock coil based on vehicle speed, information from the rear differential lock switch and 4WD switch, etc. The rear differential lock control unit detects the energized state of the differential lock coil based on the current of the high-side control circuit and low-side control circuit of the differential lock coil. If the feedback current in the differential lock coil circuit is too high, the rear differential lock control unit determines that there is a short to the ground circuit and sets the DTC.

2. Condition for setting DTC P1A00[19]

Condition for running the DTC

  • The ignition switch is ON.
  • The differential lock coil power supply voltage is less than 16 V.

Condition for setting the DTC

  • The rear differential lock control unit detects a short to the ground circuit in the differential lock coil control circuit.

3. Action taken when DTC P1A00[19] sets

  • The rear differential lock control unit turns ON the rear differential lock failure warning light.
  • The rear differential lock control unit stops controlling the differential lock control.
