DTC P1A00[19] Differential Lock Coil Circuit (Short Circuit) (Differential Lock)

1. Differential lock control system check

Refer to "53.Driveline Control 3A.Troubleshooting(Differential Lock) diagnostic system check - differential lock controls".

2. Current DTC check

1) Connect the scan tool.

2) Lift up the vehicle.

3) Turn OFF the ignition switch for 30 seconds or more.

4) Operate the vehicle with the following conditions met.

4WD models

  • The rear differential lock switch is ON.
  • The 4WD switch is in 4L.
  • The vehicle speed is 8 km/h {5 MPH} or less.

2WD models

  • The rear differential lock switch is ON.
  • The vehicle speed is 30 km/h {19 mph} or less.

5) Observe the DTC information with a scan tool. Is a DTC set?

Yes

=>Go to Inspection for short to ground in differential lock coil high-side control circuit.

No

Go to Intermittent conditions of rear differential lock control system.

Refer to "204.Driveline, Axle 17D.Symptom intermittent conditions of differential lock control system".

3. Inspection for short to ground in differential lock coil high-side control circuit

1) Disconnect the rear differential lock control unit harness connector (C57) and differential lock coil harness connector (R39).

2) Inspect the differential lock coil high-side control circuit between the rear differential lock control unit (pin 8 of C57) and the differential lock coil (pin 1 of R39) for a short to the ground circuit. Is the result normal?

Refer to "LHD Differential Lock" in the ETM (wiring diagram). (Open using the ETM viewer.).
