Diagnostic system check - parking aid system controls (Parking Aid)

  • If there is no malfunction in the system, do not perform these diagnostic steps unless otherwise instructed in other sections.
  • Check for related Service Bulletins before starting the diagnosis.
  • Do not clear the DTC unless instructed to do so in a diagnostic step.
  • The battery should be fully charged.
  • The battery cable should be normal and securely connected.
  • The ground of the parking aid system control unit should be securely connected to the correct position.
  • The parking aid system control unit harness connector should be clean and correctly connected.
  • The parking aid system control unit terminal should be clean and correctly connected.
  • Vehicle information should be programmed correctly in the parking aid system control unit.

1. Parking aid system OFF indicator light illumination check

1) Turn ON the ignition switch.

2) Check the parking aid system OFF indicator light. Does the parking aid system OFF indicator light turn OFF after illuminating for approximately 3 seconds?

Yes

=>Go to Scan tool power-up check.

No

Go to Parking aid system OFF indicator light illuminating circuit system check.

2. Scan tool power-up check

1) Connect the scan tool.

2) Power up the scan tool. Does the scan tool power up?

Yes (Models with radar sensors/stereo cameras)

=>Go to Central gateway control unit communication verification.

Yes (Models without radar sensors and stereo cameras)

=>Go to Parking aid system control unit communication verification.

No

Go to Scan tool does not power up.

3. Central gateway control unit communication verification

1) Verify communication with the central gateway control unit using the scan tool. Can communication with the central gateway control unit be established?

Yes

=>Go to Parking aid system control unit communication verification.

No

Go to Lost communication with the central gateway control unit.

=>Go to Parking aid system control unit communication verification.

4. Parking aid system control unit communication verification

1) Verify that communication can be established with the parking aid system control unit. Can communication with the parking aid system control unit be established?

Yes

=>Go to Current DTC check.

No (Models with radar sensors/stereo cameras)

Go to Lost communication with the parking aid system control unit.

No (Models without radar sensors and stereo cameras)

Go to Lost communication with the parking aid system control unit.

Refer to "75.Driver Assistance System 10W.Troubleshooting(Parking Aid) lost communication with the parking aid system control unit (models without radar sensor and stereo camera)".

5. Current DTC check

1) Observe the DTC information with a scan tool. Is a DTC set?

Yes

Go to the applicable DTC diagnosis.

No

=>Go to Other system DTC check.

6. Other system DTC check

1) Observe the DTC information for other systems with a scan tool. Is a DTC set?

Yes

Go to the applicable DTC diagnosis.

No

The system is normal.
