Parking aid system OFF indicator light illuminating circuit system check (Parking Aid)

1. Parking aid system check

Refer to "75.Driver Assistance System 10W.Troubleshooting(Parking Aid) diagnostic system check - parking aid system controls".

2. Parking aid system OFF indicator light illumination check

1) Turn ON the ignition switch.

2) Check the parking aid system OFF indicator light. Does the parking aid system OFF indicator light turn OFF after illuminating for approximately 3 seconds?

Yes

The system is normal.

No

=>Go to Parking aid system control unit power supply voltage inspection.

3. Parking aid system control unit power supply voltage inspection

1) Turn OFF the ignition switch.

2) Disconnect the parking aid system control unit harness connector (C16).

3) Turn ON the ignition switch.

4) Measure the voltage between the power supply circuit (pin 12 of C16) and the ground circuit (pin 15 of C16) with a DMM. Is the voltage normal?

Refer to "LHD Parking Aid" in the ETM (wiring diagram). (Open using the ETM viewer.).

Refer to "RHD Parking Aid" in the ETM (wiring diagram). (Open using the ETM viewer.).

Value: 10 to 16 V

Yes

=>Go to Parking aid system control unit harness connector inspection.

No

Repair the circuit as necessary.

Note

  • If the fuse blows out again, inspect the circuit for a short to ground.

=>Go to Repair verification.

4. Parking aid system control unit harness connector inspection

1) Turn OFF the ignition switch.

2) Inspect for poor connections at the parking aid system control unit harness connector (pins 5, 6, 12, and 15 of C16). Is the connection status normal?

Refer to "LHD Parking Aid" in the ETM (wiring diagram). (Open using the ETM viewer.).

Refer to "RHD Parking Aid" in the ETM (wiring diagram). (Open using the ETM viewer.).

Yes

=>Go to Indicator light illumination follow-up check.

No

Repair the connections as necessary.

=>Go to Repair verification.

5. Indicator light illumination follow-up check

1) Turn OFF the ignition switch.

2) Securely connect all of the disconnected harness connectors.

3) Turn ON the ignition switch.

4) Check the parking aid system OFF indicator light. Does the parking aid system OFF indicator light turn OFF after illuminating for approximately 3 seconds?

Yes

Go to Intermittent conditions of parking aid system.

Refer to "233.Driver Assistance System 46D.Symptom(Parking Aid) intermittent conditions of parking aid system".

No

=>Go to Instrument panel cluster warning light/indicator light operation inspection.

6. Instrument panel cluster warning light/indicator light operation inspection

1) Turn OFF the ignition switch.

2) Turn ON the ignition switch.

3) Inspect the operation of other warning lights and indicator lights excluding the parking aid system OFF indicator light. Is the result normal?

Yes

=>Go to Parking aid system control unit replacement.

No

Replace the instrument panel cluster as necessary.

Note

  • Perform programming after replacing the instrument panel cluster.

7. Parking aid system control unit replacement

Note

  • Perform programming after replacing the parking aid system control unit.

Procedure completion

=>Go to Repair verification.

8. Repair verification

1) Turn OFF the ignition switch.

2) Start the engine and drive the vehicle.

3) Check each warning light, as well as the vehicle behavior and drivability.

4) Does the vehicle run normally without any warning lights illuminating or a DTC being set?

Yes

The system is normal.

No

Go to applicable DTC diagnosis or Diagnosis by symptom.
