Error signal received from front body control module (FBCM)

Detection condition

•  The parking assist unit (optical) detects a signal error from the front body control module (FBCM) for a certain period of time or more.

Fail-safe

•  Not applicable

•  DTCs are stored in the front body control module (FBCM).

•  Front body control module (FBCM) malfunction

•  Parking assist unit (optical) malfunction

Diagnostic Procedure

Step	Inspection		Action
1	VERIFY PARKING ASSIST UNIT (OPTICAL) DTCs • Clear the DTC for the parking assist unit (optical) using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC [PARKING ASSIST UNIT (OPTICAL)].) • Retrieve the parking assist unit (optical) DTCs using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [PARKING ASSIST UNIT (OPTICAL)].) • Is the same DTC displayed?	Yes	Replace the parking assist unit (optical), then go to Step 4. (See PARKING ASSIST UNIT (OPTICAL) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
1		No	Go to the next step.
2	VERIFY FRONT BODY CONTROL MODULE (FBCM) DTCs • Retrieve the front body control module (FBCM) DTCs using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [FRONT BODY CONTROL MODULE (FBCM)].) • Are any DTCs displayed?	Yes	Repair or replace the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting. (See DTC TABLE [FRONT BODY CONTROL MODULE (FBCM)].)
2		No	Go to the next step.
3	VERIFY IF MALFUNCTIONING LOCATION IS FRONT BODY CONTROL MODULE (FBCM) DEPENDING ON REPEATABILITY • Clear the DTC for the parking assist unit (optical) using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC [PARKING ASSIST UNIT (OPTICAL)].) • Retrieve the parking assist unit (optical) DTCs using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [PARKING ASSIST UNIT (OPTICAL)].) • Is the same DTC displayed?	Yes	Replace the front body control module (FBCM), then go to the next step. (See FRONT BODY CONTROL MODULE (FBCM) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
3		No	Go to Step 5.
4	VERIFY THAT REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED • Clear the DTC for the parking assist unit (optical) using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC [PARKING ASSIST UNIT (OPTICAL)].) • Retrieve the parking assist unit (optical) DTCs using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [PARKING ASSIST UNIT (OPTICAL)].) • Is the same DTC displayed?	Yes	Repeat the inspection from Step 1. • If the malfunction recurs, replace the parking assist unit (optical). (See PARKING ASSIST UNIT (OPTICAL) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.) Go to the next step.
4		No	Go to the next step.
5	VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs DISPLAYED • Are any other DTCs displayed?	Yes	Repair or replace the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting. (See DTC TABLE [PARKING ASSIST UNIT (OPTICAL)].)
5		No	DTC troubleshooting completed.
