Determination Procedure

Caution
•  When disconnecting the connector, verify that there is no looseness, damage, deformation, corrosion, or poor connection of the connector terminals.
•  When inspecting the connector, touch it with a paper clip or similar thin pin without directly inserting a tester probe into the terminal.
•  Disconnect the negative battery terminal before performing any work that requires handling of connectors.

INSPECT FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY BETWEEN CONNECTOR C-63 AND REAR BODY CONTROL MODULE (RBCM)
•  Switch the ignition off.
•  Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
•  Disconnect connector C-63.
•  Connect the negative battery terminal.
•  Switch the ignition ON (engine off).
•  Measure the voltage at rear body control module (RBCM) terminals 3E and 3G.
•  Is the voltage between 1.5 — 3.5 V?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Go to Step 11.

INSPECT FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY BETWEEN CONNECTOR C-63 AND CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT
•  Measure the voltage at climate control unit terminals 1K and 1M. (with full-auto air conditioner)
•  Measure the voltage at climate control unit terminals Q and S. (with manual air conditioner)
•  Is the voltage between 1.5 — 3.5 V?
Yes
Go to Step 4.
No
Go to the next step.
3
INSPECT CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY
•  Switch the ignition off.
•  Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
•  Disconnect the climate control unit connector.
•  Connect connector C-63.
•  Connect the negative battery terminal.
•  Switch the ignition ON (engine off).
•  Measure the voltage at DLC-2 terminals L and K.
•  Is the voltage between 1.5 — 3.5 V?
Yes
Replace the climate control unit because there is a short to the power supply in the climate control unit.
No
Repair or replace the wiring harness between the climate control unit and connector C-63 because the wiring harness is shorted to the power supply.

INSPECT FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY BETWEEN CONNECTOR C-63 AND PARKING ASSIST UNIT (ULTRASONIC)
•  Measure the voltage at parking assist unit (ultrasonic) terminals AA and AB.
•  Is the voltage between 1.5 — 3.5 V?
Yes
Go to Step 6.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT PARKING ASSIST UNIT (ULTRASONIC) FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY
•  Switch the ignition off.
•  Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
•  Disconnect the parking assist unit (ultrasonic) connector.
•  Connect connector C-63.
•  Connect the negative battery terminal.
•  Switch the ignition ON (engine off).
•  Measure the voltage at DLC-2 terminals L and K.
•  Is the voltage between 1.5 — 3.5 V?
Yes
Replace the parking assist unit (ultrasonic) because there is a short to the power supply in the parking assist unit (ultrasonic).
No
Repair or replace the wiring harness between the parking assist unit (ultrasonic) and connector C-63 because the wiring harness is shorted to the power supply.

INSPECT FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY BETWEEN CONNECTOR C-63 AND INSTRUMENT CLUSTER
•  Measure the voltage at instrument cluster terminals C and E.
•  Is the voltage between 1.5 — 3.5 V?
Yes
Go to Step 8.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY
•  Switch the ignition off.
•  Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
•  Disconnect the instrument cluster connector.
•  Connect connector C-63.
•  Connect the negative battery terminal.
•  Switch the ignition ON (engine off).
•  Measure the voltage at DLC-2 terminals L and K.
•  Is the voltage between 1.5 — 3.5 V?
Yes
Replace the instrument cluster because there is a short to the power supply in the instrument cluster.
No
Repair or replace the wiring harness between the instrument cluster and connector C-63 because the wiring harness is shorted to the power supply.

INSPECT FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY BETWEEN CONNECTOR C-63 AND CONNECTOR C-17
•  Switch the ignition off.
•  Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
•  Disconnect connector C-17.
•  Connect connector C-63.
•  Connect the negative battery terminal.
•  Switch the ignition ON (engine off).
•  Measure the voltage at instrument cluster terminals C and E.
•  Is the voltage between 1.5 — 3.5 V?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace the wiring harness between connector C-63 and connector C-17 because the wiring harness is shorted to the power supply.

INSPECT FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY BETWEEN CONNECTOR C-17 AND DLC-2
•  Measure the voltage at DLC-2 terminals L and K.
•  Is the voltage 0 V ?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace the wiring harness between connector C-17 and DLC-2 because the wiring harness is shorted to the power supply.
10
INSPECT GATEWAY UNIT (GWU) FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY
•  Switch the ignition off.
•  Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
•  Disconnect the connector 2 which has gateway unit (GWU) terminals 2L and 2J.
•  Connect the negative battery terminal.
•  Switch the ignition ON (engine off).
•  Measure the voltage at gateway unit (GWU) terminals 2L and 2J.
•  Is the voltage between 1.5 — 3.5 V?
Yes
Repair or replace the wiring harness between the gateway unit (GWU) connector C-17 because the wiring harness is shorted to the power supply.
No
Replace the gateway unit (GWU) because there is a short to the power supply in the gateway unit (GWU).

INSPECT FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY BETWEEN CONNECTORS C-82, C-83 AND REAR BODY CONTROL MODULE (RBCM)
•  Switch the ignition off.
•  Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
•  Disconnect connectors C-82, C-83.
•  Connect the negative battery terminal.
•  Switch the ignition ON (engine off).
•  Measure the voltage at DLC-2 terminals L and K.
•  Is the voltage between 1.5 — 3.5 V?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Go to Step 15.

INSPECT FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY BETWEEN CONNECTORS C-82, C-83 AND WIRELESS CHARGER (Qi)
•  Measure the voltage at wireless charger (Qi) terminals F and D.
•  Is the voltage between 1.5 — 3.5 V?
Yes
Repair or replace the wiring harness between connector C-63 and connectors C-82, C-83 because the wiring harness is shorted to the power supply.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT WIRELESS CHARGER (Qi) FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY
•  Switch the ignition off.
•  Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
•  Disconnect the wireless charger (Qi) connector.
•  Connect connectors C-82, C-83.
•  Connect the negative battery terminal.
•  Switch the ignition ON (engine off).
•  Measure the voltage at DLC-2 terminals L and K.
•  Is the voltage between 1.5 — 3.5 V?
Yes
Replace the wireless charger (Qi) because there is a short to the power supply in the wireless charger (Qi).
No
Repair or replace the wiring harness between the wireless charger (Qi) and connectors C-82, C-83 because the wiring harness is shorted to the power supply.

INSPECT FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY BETWEEN CONNECTORS C-82, C-83 AND CONNECTOR C-64
•  Switch the ignition off.
•  Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
•  Disconnect connector C-64.
•  Connect connectors C-82, C-83.
•  Connect the negative battery terminal.
•  Switch the ignition ON (engine off).
•  Measure the voltage at DLC-2 terminals L and K.
•  Is the voltage between 1.5 — 3.5 V?
Yes
Go to Step 16.
No
Repair or replace the wiring harness between connectors C-82, C-83 and connector C-64 because the wiring harness is shorted to the power supply.

INSPECT FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY BETWEEN CONNECTOR C-63 AND CONNECTOR C-64
•  Switch the ignition off.
•  Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
•  Disconnect connector C-64.
•  Connect connector C-63.
•  Connect the negative battery terminal.
•  Switch the ignition ON (engine off).
•  Measure the voltage at DLC-2 terminals L and K.
•  Is the voltage between 1.5 — 3.5 V?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace the wiring harness between connector C-63 and connector C-64 because the wiring harness is shorted to the power supply.

INSPECT FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY BETWEEN CONNECTOR C-64 AND CONNECTOR C-14
•  Switch the ignition off.
•  Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
•  Disconnect connector C-14.
•  Connect connector C-64.
•  Connect the negative battery terminal.
•  Switch the ignition ON (engine off).
•  Measure the voltage at DLC-2 terminals L and K.
•  Is the voltage between 1.5 — 3.5 V?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace the wiring harness between connector C-64 and connector C-14 because the wiring harness is shorted to the power supply.

INSPECT FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY BETWEEN CONNECTOR C-14 AND REAR BODY CONTROL MODULE (RBCM)
•  Switch the ignition off.
•  Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
•  Disconnect the rear body control module (RBCM) connector.
•  Connect connector C-14.
•  Connect the negative battery terminal.
•  Switch the ignition ON (engine off).
•  Measure the voltage at DLC-2 terminals L and K.
•  Is the voltage between 1.5 — 3.5 V?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace the wiring harness between connector C-14 and rear body control module (RBCM) because the wiring harness is shorted to the power supply.

INSPECT FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY BETWEEN BLIND SPOT MONITORING (BSM) CONTROL MODULE (LH) AND REAR BODY CONTROL MODULE (RBCM)
•  Measure the voltage at blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module (LH) terminals C and D.
•  Is the voltage between 1.5 — 3.5 V?
Yes
Replace the rear body control module (RBCM) because there is a short to the power supply in the rear body control module (RBCM).
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY BETWEEN BLIND SPOT MONITORING (BSM) CONTROL MODULE (LH) AND CONNECTOR C-39
•  Switch the ignition off.
•  Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
•  Disconnect connector C-39.
•  Connect the negative battery terminal.
•  Switch the ignition ON (engine off).
•  Measure the voltage at blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module (LH) terminals C and D.
•  Is the voltage between 1.5 — 3.5 V?
Yes
Repair or replace the wiring harness between the rear body control module (RBCM) and connector C-39 because the wiring harness is shorted to the power supply.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT BLIND SPOT MONITORING (BSM) CONTROL MODULE (LH) FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY
•  Switch the ignition off.
•  Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
•  Disconnect the blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module (LH) connector.
•  Connect connector C-39.
•  Connect the rear body control module (RBCM) connector.
•  Connect the negative battery terminal.
•  Switch the ignition ON (engine off).
•  Measure the voltage at DLC-2 terminals L and K.
•  Is the voltage between 1.5 — 3.5 V?
Yes
Replace the blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module (LH) because there is a short to power supply in the blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module (LH)
No
Repair or replace the wiring harness between the blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module (LH) and connector C-39 because the wiring harness is shorted to the power supply.
