DETECTION CONDITION
|
• When any of the following conditions is met:
Diagnostic support note
• This is a continuous monitor (other).
• The check engine light does not illuminate.
• FREEZE FRAME DATA/Snapshot data is available.
• DTC is stored in the PCM memory.
|
FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION
|
• Inhibits engine-stop by i-stop control.
|
POSSIBLE CAUSE
|
• Related parts malfunction
• Common rail system malfunction
• Piston stop position malfunction during idling stop
• Mechanical (engine) malfunction
• PCM malfunction

• Record the freeze frame data/snap shot data.

VERIFY OTHER RELATED DTCs
• Switch the ignition OFF, and then switch it ON (engine off or on).
• Display the DTCs using the M-MDS.
• Has DTC P057F:00 been recorded?

Yes
|
Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.

|
VERIFY IF MALFUNCTION CAUSED BY INABILITY TO START ENGINE
• Start the engine.
• Does it start normally?
|
Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Perform symptom troubleshooting according to [NO. 9 POOR ENGINE STARTING (ENGINE DOES NOT START)] or [NO. 10 POOR ENGINE STARTING (ENGINE STARTING DIFFICULT)].

VERIFY COMMON RAIL SYSTEM OPERATION
• Inspect the common rail operation.
• Does the common rail operate normally?

Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Repair or replace the malfunctioning location, then go to Step 11.
|

DETERMINE IF MALFUNCTION IS CAUSED BY ROUGH IDLING OR PISTON-STOP POSITION MALFUNCTION
• Start the engine and warm it up.
• Is the idle speed stabilized?

Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Go to Step 7.

INSPECT CKP SENSOR SIGNAL
• Display the PCM terminal 1E output signal wave pattern using an oscilloscope.
• Is the output wave pattern normal?
|
Yes
|
Go to Step 11.
|
No
|
Inspect the CKP sensor pulse wheel
• If there is a malfunction
• If there is no malfunction
Go to Step 11.

VERIFY VACUUM HOSE CONNECTION STATUS
• Verify the vacuum hose connection status.
• Is the vacuum hose connection status normal?

Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Correctly connect the vacuum hose, then go to Step 11.
|

|
INSPECT INTAKE AIR SYSTEM FOR AIR SUCTION
• Visually inspect the following intake air system for looseness or damage.
• Is the intake air system normal?

Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Repair or replace the malfunctioning location, then go to Step 11.
|

|
VERIFY EGR VALVE OPERATION CONDITION
• Perform the EGR control inspection.
• Is the EGR valve operation normal?

Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Repair or replace the malfunctioning location, then go to Step 11.

|
VERIFY ASSEMBLY CONDITION OF TIMING CHAIN
• Verify the condition of the timing chain assembly (valve timing, looseness, jumping).
• Is the timing chain condition normal?

Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Repair or replace the malfunctioning location.
Assemble the timing chain using the correct timing, then go to Step 11.

|
VERIFY THAT REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED
• Reconnect all disconnected connectors and hoses.
• Refer to the [MEMORY CLEARING PROCEDURE] and clear the DTC.
• Start the engine and drive the vehicle under the freeze frame data (mode 2)/snapshot data condition.
• Display the DTCs using the M-MDS.
• Has DTC P0A0F:00 been recorded?

Yes
|
Repeat the inspection from Step 1.
• If the malfunction recurs, replace the PCM, then go to the next step.

No
|
Go to the next step.

VERIFY OTHER DTCs
• Has any other DTC or pending code been stored?
|
Yes
|
Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
|
No
|
DTC troubleshooting completed.
