• If the sliding mechanisms on both sides are not locked after assembling the second-row seat, it may move unexpectedly while the vehicle is driven, which could result in serious injury. After assembling the second-row seat, try moving it back and forth to verify that the sliding mechanism on both sides are locked.

Caution
-
• After the second-row seat has been removed, if the slider lever is operated and the second-row seat is reinstalled with the left/right slide positions deviated, the adjuster unit could be damaged. After removing a second-row seat, do not operate the slider lever.
• Verify that there are no malfunctions in the forward/back slide of the seat and in the adjuster unit after installing a second-row seat.
• When performing the procedure with a second-row seat removed from the vehicle, perform the procedure on a clean cloth so as not to damage or soil the seat.
6:4 Split Adjustable Type Bench Seat (Driver's-side)
Rear door side
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)
2. Remove the second-row seat. (Driver's side) (See SECOND-ROW SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
3. Remove the second-row seat cushion. (See SECOND-ROW SEAT CUSHION REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
4. Pull up the recliner lever knob to a position where the clip is visible and insert a tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver into the position shown in the figure.
5. Move the tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure and remove the clip from the recliner lever knob.
6. Remove the recliner lever knob.
7. Remove the clips from the second-row seat cushion frame.
8. Insert the remover tool between the reverse cover and second-row seat side cover.
9. Move the remover tool in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure and detach the reverse cover tabs from the second-row seat side cover.
10. Insert the remover tool between the reverse cover and second-row seat side cover.
11. Move the remover tool in the order of arrows (1) and (2) as shown in the figure and detach the reverse cover tabs from the second-row seat side cover.
12. Move the second-row seat side cover in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure and detach the second-row seat cushion frame hook from the second-row seat side cover.
13. Remove the second-row seat side cover.
14. Install in the reverse order of removal.
Rear console side
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)
2. Remove the second-row seat. (Driver's side) (See SECOND-ROW SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
3. Remove the second-row seat cushion. (See SECOND-ROW SEAT CUSHION REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
4. Remove the screw.
5. Remove the cover.
6. Remove the screw.
7. Insert the remover tool between the reverse cover and second-row seat side cover.
8. Move the remover tool in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure and detach the reverse cover tabs from the second-row seat side cover.
9. Insert the remover tool between the reverse cover and second-row seat side cover.
10. Move the remover tool in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure and detach the reverse cover tabs from the second-row seat side cover.
11. Remove the second-row seat side cover.
12. Install in the reverse order of removal.
6:4 Split Adjustable Type Bench Seat (Passenger's side)
Rear console side
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)
2. Remove the second-row seat. (Passenger's side) (See SECOND-ROW SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
3. Insert the remover tool between the reverse cover and second-row seat side cover.
4. Move the remover tool in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure and detach the reverse cover tabs from the second-row seat side cover.
5. Insert the remover tool between the reverse cover and second-row seat side cover.
6. Move the remover tool in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure and detach the reverse cover tabs from the second-row seat side cover.
7. Operate the recliner lever and fold the second-row seat back.
8. Remove the second-row seat side cover.
9. Move the second-row seat side cover in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure and detach the second-row seat cushion frame hook from the second-row seat side cover.
10. Move the second-row seat side cover in the direction of arrow (2) shown in the figure and detach the clip from the second-row seat side cover.
11. Remove the second-row seat side cover.
12. Install in the reverse order of removal.
5:5 Walk-in Type Separate Seat
Rear door side
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)
2. Remove the second-row seat. (See SECOND-ROW SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
3. Pull up the recliner lever knob to a position where the clip is visible and insert a tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver into the position shown in the figure.
4. Move the tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure and remove the clip from the recliner lever knob.
5. Remove the recliner lever knob.
6. Remove the clips from the second-row seat cushion frame.
7. Insert the remover tool between the reverse cover and second-row seat side cover.
8. Move the remover tool in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure and detach the reverse cover tabs from the second-row seat side cover.
9. Insert the remover tool between the reverse cover and second-row seat side cover.
10. Move the remover tool in the order of arrows (1) and (2) as shown in the figure and detach the reverse cover tabs from the second-row seat side cover.
11. Move the second-row seat side cover in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure and detach the second-row seat cushion frame hook from the second-row seat side cover.
12. Remove the second-row seat side cover.
13. Install in the reverse order of removal.
Rear consol side
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)
2. Remove the second-row seat. (See SECOND-ROW SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
3. Remove the clips from the second-row seat cushion frame.
4. Insert the remover tool between the reverse cover and second-row seat side cover.
5. Move the remover tool in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure and detach the reverse cover tabs from the second-row seat side cover.
6. Insert the remover tool between the reverse cover and second-row seat side cover.
7. Move the remover tool in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure and detach the reverse cover tabs from the second-row seat side cover.
8. Operate the recliner lever and fold the second-row seat back.
9. Remove the second-row seat side cover.
10. Move the second-row seat side cover in the direction of arrow shown in the figure and detach the second-row seat cushion frame hook from the second-row seat side cover.
11. Remove the second-row seat side cover.
12. Install in the reverse order of removal.
