FRONT MAP LIGHT BULB REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

Map Light Switch Integrated Type

1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

Caution

•  When inserting the remover tool into the gap between the front map light and the lens, the remover tool could interfere with the front map light and scratch or damage it. When removing the lens from the front map light, apply protective tape to the front map light.

2.  To prevent scratches or damage, apply protective tape to the positions shown in the figure.

3.  Press the lens to assure a space for inserting the remover tool.

4.  Insert the remover tool into the gap between the front map light and the lens shown in the figure.

5.  Move the remover tool in the directions of arrow (1) shown in the figure and pull out the lens from the pin.

6.  Remove the lens.

7.  Press the spring of the front map light in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure and disengage the front map light bulb/LED from the spring.

Caution

•  If there is oil or dirt on the surface of the light bulb, excessive heat will build up and the life of the light bulb will be shortened. If the light bulb glass area is touched, wipe off any dirt using a soft cloth dampened with detergent diluted in water (approx. 5 %).

8.  Remove the front map light bulb/LED.

9.  Install in the reverse order of removal.

Map Light Switch Independent Type

Note

•  The LED for the front map light cannot be replaced separately. If there is any malfunction in the LED, replace the front map light as a single unit. (See FRONT MAP LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
