REAR MAP LIGHT BULB REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

Bulb Type

1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

Caution

•  If a remover tool is inserted into the gap between the rear map light and lens, the rear map light could interfere with the remover tool resulting in damage to the rear map light. When removing the lens from the rear map light, perform the procedure after applying protective tape to the rear map light.

2.  To prevent scratches or damage, apply protective tape to the position shown in the figure.

3.  Insert the remover tool into the service hole at the position shown in the figure.

4.  Move the remover tool in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure to detach the lens tabs from the rear map light.

5.  Detach the lens tabs from the rear map light and remove the lens from the rear map light.

Caution

•  If there is oil or dirt on the surface of the light bulb, excessive heat will build up and the life of the light bulb will be shortened. If the light bulb glass area is touched, wipe off any dirt using a soft cloth dampened with detergent diluted in water (approx. 5%).

6.  Remove the rear map light bulb.

7.  Install in the reverse order of removal.

LED Type

Note

•  The rear map light LED is integrated with the rear map light.

•  If the rear map light LED is replaced, replace it with the rear map light as a single unit. (See REAR MAP LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
