CONNECTIVITY MASTER UNIT (CMU) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

Note

•  The connectivity master unit (CMU) records the vehicle's specification information.

•  Vehicle specification information is not stored on a new CMU.

•  When the ignition is switched ON (engine off or on) after replacing the CMU, the unit reads and stores the vehicle specification information sent via CAN communication from the instrument cluster.

•  The Bluetooth^® pairing information stored in the CMU cannot be written to a new CMU. Therefore, the Bluetooth^® pairing information will be eliminated if the CMU is replaced. Before replacing the CMU, explain to the customer that the Bluetooth^® pairing resetting is required.

1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Remove the following parts:

(1)  Lower decoration panel (See DECORATION PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(2)  Upper decoration panel (See DECORATION PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(3)  Driver-side decoration panel (See DECORATION PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(4)  Upper column cover (See COLUMN COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(5)  Meter hood No.1 (See METER HOOD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(6)  Center display component (See CENTER DISPLAY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Remove the screws.

4.  Remove the CMU from the center display

5.  Install in the reverse order of removal.

6.  When the CMU is replaced, perform the automatic configuration using the following procedure.

(1)  Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on).

(2)  Select [Settings] on the center display.

(3)  Select [System] on the center display.

(4)  Select [Factory Reset] on the center display.

(5)  Select [YES] on the center display and implement the CMU initialization.

(6)  Verify that the CMU restarts and the menu screen is displayed.

(7)  Switch the ignition OFF.

(8)  Remove all of the remote transmitters from the vehicle, lock all doors, keep the remote transmitters 2 m or more from the vehicle, and then wait for 5 min or more.

(9)  The CMU automatic configuration is completed.

(10)  Using the M-MDS, verify that DTC U2300:54 or U2300:55 is not displayed.
