Front door switch (driver-side) circuit malfunction |

Detection condition
|
• Short to ground in front door switch (driver-side) circuit with the front door (driver-side) closed (front door switch (driver-side) off).
|
Possible cause
|
• Front door switch (driver-side) connector or terminal malfunction
• Front door switch (driver-side) malfunction
• BCM connector or terminal malfunction
• Short to ground in wiring harness between front door switch (driver-side) terminal A and BCM terminal 6O
• BCM malfunction

INSPECT FRONT DOOR SWITCH (DRIVER-SIDE) CONNECTOR
• Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
• Disconnect the negative battery cable.
• Disconnect the front door switch (driver-side) connector.
• Inspect the connector engagement and connection condition and inspect the terminals for damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection.
• Is there any malfunction?

Yes
|
Repair or replace the connector, then go to Step 5.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.
|

INSPECT FRONT DOOR SWITCH (DRIVER-SIDE)
• Inspect the front door switch (driver-side).
(See DOOR SWITCH INSPECTION.)
• Is there any malfunction?
|
Yes
|
Replace the front door switch (driver-side), then go to Step 5.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.

INSPECT BCM CONNECTOR
• Disconnect the BCM connector.
• Inspect the connector engagement and connection condition and inspect the terminals for damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection.
• Is there any malfunction?

Yes
|
Repair or replace the connector, then go to Step 5.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.
|

INSPECT FOR SHORT TO GROUND IN FRONT DOOR SWITCH (DRIVER-SIDE) CIRCUIT
• Verify that the front door switch (driver-side) and BCM connectors are disconnected.
• Inspect for continuity between front door switch (driver-side) terminal A (wiring harness-side) and body ground.
• Is there continuity?

Yes
|
Repair or replace the wiring harness which has a short to ground, then go to the next step.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.
|

|
VERIFY DTC TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED
• Make sure to reconnect all disconnected connectors.
• Reconnect the negative battery cable.
• Clear the DTC for the BCM using the M-MDS.
(See CLEARING DTC [BCM].)
• Retrieve the BCM DTCs using the M-MDS.
(See DTC INSPECTION [BCM].)
• Is the same DTC displayed?

Yes
|
Repeat the inspection from Step 1.
• If the malfunction recurs, replace the BCM.
Go to the next step.

No
|
DTC troubleshooting completed.

VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs DISPLAYED
• Are any other DTCs displayed?
|
Yes
|
Repair or replace the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.

No
|
