1.  Disconnect the negative lead-acid battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE LEAD-ACID BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Collect the refrigerant. (See REFRIGERANT RECOVERY.)

3.  Disconnect the connectors.

4.  Remove the clips.

5.  Disconnect the flexible hose No.2 from the heat pump valve component No.2. (See FLEXIBLE HOSE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

Caution
•  If you directly pinch and fix the block with pliers it may be damaged. When fixing the block with pliers wrap a clean cloth around the block when working.

6.  Secure the female side block with pliers and remove bolt A. (See Bolt Installation Note.)

7.  Remove bolt B.

Caution
•  If moisture or foreign matter enters the refrigeration cycle, cooling ability will be lowered and abnormal noise or other malfunctions could occur. After removing the refrigeration system parts, plug the opening immediately.

8.  Remove the heat pump valve component No.2 being careful not to allow compressor oil to spill.

9.  Install in the reverse order of removal.

10.  When replacing the heat pump valve component No.2, add compressor oil in the refrigeration cycle.

11.  Charge the refrigerant. (See REFRIGERANT CHARGING.)

12.  Perform the air-conditioning system performance test. (See REFRIGERANT SYSTEM PERFORMANCE TEST.)


Bolt Installation Note

1.  Apply compressor oil to the O-ring at the connection.

2.  Perform initial tightening of bolts fully by hand.
