EVAPORATOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR INSPECTION [FULL-AUTO AIR CONDITIONER]

id0740a1702100

Note
•  When inspecting the evaporator temperature sensor, inspect it when it is installed to the A/C unit.

Function Inspection

1.  Perform the following procedure so that the ambient temperature of the evaporator temperature sensor is close to the cabin temperature.

•  Switch the main power ON (READY on).
•  Set airflow volume to maximum.
•  Set the temperature to MAX COLD.
•  Touch the A/C icon to turn the A/C off.
•  Set the air intake mode to REC.
•  Fully close all the doors and the door glass.
•  Leave for 5 min.

2.  Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.

3.  Switch the main power OFF.

4.  Display the dash-electrical supply unit PIDs [EVA_TMP] and [AMB_TEMP_INTERNAL]. (See PID/DATA MONITOR INSPECTION.)

5.  Compare the temperature displays of the PIDs [EVA_TMP] and [AMB_TEMP_INTERNAL].

•  If the temperature displays of the PIDs [EVA_TMP] and [AMB_TEMP_INTERNAL]. do not match, perform the procedure from Step 6.

6.  Disconnect the negative lead-acid battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE LEAD-ACID BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

7.  Remove the following parts.

(1)  Glove compartment(See GLOVE COMPARTMENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [(E)].)
(2)  Front passenger's side wall (See SIDE WALL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

8.  Connect the negative lead-acid battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE LEAD-ACID BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

10.  Measure the temperature of the air intake port.

11.  Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.

12.  Switch the main power ON (READY off).

13.  Display the dash-electrical supply unit PID [EVA_TMP]. (See PID/DATA MONITOR INSPECTION.)

14.  Compare the measured temperature with the temperature display of the dash-electrical supply unit PID [EVA_TMP].

•  If it does not match the measured temperature, perform the resistance inspection. (See Resistance Inspection.)

Resistance Inspection

2.  Switch the main power OFF.

3.  Disconnect the negative lead-acid battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE LEAD-ACID BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

4.  Disconnect the evaporator temperature sensor connector.

5.  Measure the temperature of the air intake port.
