ADJUSTER ANCHOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

Warning

•  Incorrect handling of the front seat belt (front pre-tensioner seat belt) may cause the pre-tensioner to activate (deploy) unexpectedly and cause injury. Read the SRS air bag system service warnings and cautions before handling a front seat belt (front pre-tensioner seat belt).(See AIR BAG SYSTEM SERVICE WARNINGS [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM (E)].)(See AIR BAG SYSTEM SERVICE CAUTIONS [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM (E)].)

•  The side air bag sensor is installed below the rear door. When working around the rear door, disconnect the battery negative terminal and do not apply excessive impact to the inside of the rear door.

1.  Switch the main power OFF.

2.  Disconnect the negative lead-acid battery terminal and wait for 1 min or more. (See NEGATIVE LEAD-ACID BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

3.  Set the adjuster to the lowest position.

4.  Remove the following parts:

(1)  Rear door lower trim (See REAR DOOR LOWER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(2)  Front seat belt (See FRONT SEAT BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(3)  Rear door upper trim (See REAR DOOR UPPER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

5.  Remove bolt A. (See Bolt Installation Note.)

6.  Remove bolt B. (See Bolt Installation Note.)

7.  Remove the adjuster anchor.

8.  Install in the reverse order of removal.

Bolt Installation Note

1.  Temporarily tighten bolts A and B.

2.  Completely tighten bolt A.

3.  Completely tighten bolt B.
