• Clear the DTC recorded in the memory.

• Display PID ECU_INTERNAL_TEMP using the M-MDS.
(See PID/DATA MONITOR INSPECTION.)
• Is the approaching vehicle audible system device internal temperature 105 °C {221 °F} or more?

Go to the next step.

No
|
Go to repair completion verification.

VERIFY IF APPROACHING VEHICLE AUDIBLE SYSTEM DEVICE FUNCTION IS STOPPED DUE TO TEMPORARY INCREASE IN INTERNAL TEMPERATURE
• Move the vehicle to a cool place.
• Clear the DTC recorded in the memory.
(See CLEARING DTC.)
• Display PID ECU_INTERNAL_TEMP using the M-MDS.
(See PID/DATA MONITOR INSPECTION.)
• Is the approaching vehicle audible system device internal temperature 105 °C {221 °F} or more?

Yes
|
Go to the next step.

No
|
Explain to the customer that the approaching vehicle audible system device function stopped due to a temporary increase in the internal temperature of the approaching vehicle audible system device, then go to repair completion verification.

Repair completion verification 1
|
INSPECT APPROACHING VEHICLE AUDIBLE SYSTEM DEVICE FOR MALFUNCTION DEPENDING ON REPEATABILITY
• Install/connect the part removed/disconnected during the troubleshooting procedure.
• Clear the DTC recorded in the memory.
(See CLEARING DTC.)
• Drive the vehicle at 0—40 km/h {0—24 mph} for 3.6 s or more.
• Perform the DTC inspection for the approaching vehicle audible system device.
(See DTC INSPECTION.)
• Is the same Pending DTC present?

Yes
|
Refer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error.
If the CAN communication is normal, perform the diagnosis from Step 1.
• If the malfunction recurs, replace the approaching vehicle audible system device, then go to the next step.

No
|
Go to the next step.

• Perform the DTC inspection.
