Replacement parts

1.  Remove the following parts:

(1)  Rear ultrasonic sensor short cord (See REAR ULTRASONIC SENSOR SHORT-CORD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [(E)].)

(2)  Rear ultrasonic sensor (See REAR ULTRASONIC SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [(E)].)

(3)  Retainer (See REAR ULTRASONIC SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [(E)].)

(4)  Retainer bracket (See REAR ULTRASONIC SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [(E)].)

(5)  Rear side radar sensor (See REAR SIDE RADAR SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(6)  Rear fog light (With rear fog light) (See REAR FOG LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [(E)].)

2.  Disassemble in the order shown in the figure.

Warning

•  When removing the set plate, peel off the double-sided adhesive tape at the positions shown in the figure using a utility knife. Using a utility knife with bare hands can cause injury. Always wear gloves when using a utility knife.

1	Towing hook cover
2	Rear reflector

5	Rear bumper face

3.  When replacing the rear bumper face, perform the following procedure for a new rear bumper face.

(1)  Paint the rear bumper.

(2)  Use a drill to drill holes as shown in the figure.

Drill bit diameter: 10 mm {0.39 in}

Caution

•  There are two types of SSTs. Before drilling the rear bumper face using the SST, verify the shape of the SST.

•  Pull out the SST to the backside of the rear bumper face.

(3)  Set the SSTs to the positions shown in the figure.

(4)  Tighten the bolt of the SST in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure and pass it through the rear bumper face.

(5)  Drill a hole at the remaining ultrasonic sensor installation position using the SST and the same method as Steps 3 and 4.

(6)  Remove burrs from the drilled holes.

(7)  Clean and degrease the retainer on the rear bumper face and the retainer bracket installation part.

(8)  Apply primer to the retainer of the rear bumper face and the retainer bracket installation part.

(9)  Peel off the tape backing from the double-sided adhesive tape and install the retainer bracket.

(10)  Install the retainer.

(11)  Peel off the tape backing from the double-sided adhesive tape and install the retainer.

(12)  Hold down the parts of the retainer and retainer bracket with double-sided adhesive tape.

4.  Assemble in the reverse order of disassembly.

Set Plate Installation Note

1.  Remove any grease or dirt on the double-sided adhesive tape application areas.

2.  Remove the tape backing from the double-sided adhesive tape on the set plate and install the set plate.

3.  Hold down the part of the set plate with double-sided adhesive tape.

Rivet Removal Note

1.  Remove the rivet using the following procedure:

(1)  Pinch the rivet pins from the rear bumper face side using needle-nose pliers and secure them.

(2)  Set the following diameter drill bit to the drill.

Drill bit diameter

4.1 mm {0.16 in}

Caution

•  If a drill bit with an inappropriate diameter is used, the rear bumper face may be damaged. When removing the rivets, always use a drill bit with the specified diameter.

(3)  Gouge off the rivet flange using a drill and remove the rivet.

(4)  Remove any rivet shavings from the rear bumper face.
