1. Measure the gap and height difference between the liftgate and the body.

Standard clearance

a: 4.5-7.5 mm {0.18-0.29 in}

b: -2.6-0.4 mm {-0.10-0.01 in}

c: 2.6-6.4 mm {0.11-0.25 in}

d: -1.9-1.9 mm {-0.074-0.074 in}

e: 4.0-8.0 mm {0.16-0.31 in}

• If the measured value exceeds the standard clearance, adjust using the following procedure:

1. Loosen the liftgate hinge installation bolts and adjust by moving the liftgate.

2. Tighten the liftgate hinge installation bolts. (See LIFTGATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3. If the liftgate does not open/close smoothly, adjust the liftgate lock striker position by loosening the liftgate lock striker installation bolts. (See LIFTGATE LOCK STRIKER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

4. Spray or pour water on the liftgate and surrounding area using a hose or a high pressure car wash machine, and verify that there is no water leakage.

5. Perform the 360° view monitor system aiming. (With 360° view monitor system) (See 360°VIEW MONITOR SYSTEM AIMING.)

6. Perform the rear mount camera aiming. (Without 360° view monitor system, With parking assist system (predicted vehicle path assist lines display type)) (See 360°VIEW MONITOR SYSTEM AIMING.)
