KEY Warning Light (red)
Purpose
-
• The KEY warning light (red) notifies the driver that the engine cannot be started, the remote transmitter is outside of the vehicle, or that there is a malfunction in the system.
Function
-
• When a malfunction is detected in the keyless entry system or advanced keyless entry system, the KEY warning light (red) turns on.
-
― A warning message in the center display is displayed when the KEY warning light (red) is turned on. For the display content, refer to the [CENTER DISPLAY] in the workshop manual.
• The KEY warning light (red) flashes when each door is closed from open condition with the main power switched to ACC or ON (READY on or off) and the remote transmitter outside of the vehicle.
Structure/Construction
-
• The KEY warning light (red)/KEY indicator light (green) are built into the instrument cluster.
• The KEY indication is displayed in the multi-information display.
Operation
1. The instrument cluster receives (1) the system condition display request signal or warning indication request signal from the body control module (BCM) via CAN communication.
2. The instrument cluster turns the transistor on (2) intermittently for a system condition display request signal and continuously for a warning indication request signal.
3. When the transistor is turned on intermittently, the KEY warning light (red) flashes (3), and when it is turned on continuously, the KEY warning light (red) turns on (3).
KEY Indicator Light (green)/Security Indicator Light
Purpose
-
Key indicator light (green)
-
• The KEY indicator light (green) notifies the driver that the engine starting conditions have been met or that the remote transmitter battery voltage is depleted.
-
Security indicator light
-
• The security indicator light notifies the driver that the immobilizer system is operating.
Function
-
Key indicator light (green)
-
• If the remote transmitter battery voltage is depleted, the KEY indicator light (green) flashes.
-
― A warning message in the center display is displayed when the KEY indicator light (green) flashes. For the display content, refer to the [CENTER DISPLAY] in the workshop manual.
-
Security indicator light
-
• If a malfunction is detected in the immobilizer system, the DTC can be verified by the flashing pattern of the security indicator light.
Structure/Construction
-
KEY indicator light (green)
-
• The KEY warning light (red)/KEY indicator light (green) are built into the instrument cluster.

-
Security indicator light
-
• The security indicator light is built into the instrument cluster.
Operation
-
KEY indicator light (green)
-
1. The instrument cluster receives (1) the system condition display request signal or battery voltage low indication request signal from the body control module (BCM) via CAN communication.
2. The instrument cluster turns the transistor on (2) intermittently for a battery voltage low indication request signal and continuously for a system conditions indication request signal.
3. When the transistor is turned on intermittently, the KEY indicator light (green) flashes (3), and when it is turned on continuously, the KEY indicator light (green) turns on (3).
Security indicator light
1. The body control module (BCM) turns the transistor on (1) intermittently.
2. When body control module (BCM) turns the transistor on (1) intermittently, the security indicator light located on the instrument cluster flashes (2).
-
• When the immobilizer system is operating, it illuminates for
0.1 sec every approx. 2 sec.
• If the immobilizer system is normal, the security indicator light illuminates for
approx. 3 sec and then turns off after the power switch is pressed.
ALARM
Purpose
-
• The keyless warning alarm notifies the driver that the presence of the remote transmitter cannot be verified.
Function
-
• When any of the following conditions is met, the body control module (BCM) outputs the keyless warning alarm sound by using the notification and warning speaker located inside the column.
-
― Driver's door latch switch on signal (door open) is received with main power switched to ACC
― Remote transmitter cannot be detected in the vehicle with all door latch switch off signals (doors closed) received, and with main power switched to position other than OFF
Construction
-
• The keyless warning alarm sounds using the notification and warning speaker located inside the column.
Operation
1. The body control module (BCM) outputs the keyless warning alarm sound signal (1) to the notification and warning speaker located inside the column.
2. When the notification and warning speaker inputs the keyless warning alarm sound signal, it sounds the keyless warning alarm (2).
